Introspection

Image
Sunrays pale, Clouds resonate, Wind blows, Summons the rain to follow, Wavering are the leaflets of neem , In frenzy, raindrops leave their surface, On the canopy of Korobi, Pink florets of which shake in tandem, With the bursting crimson of hibiscus, An ecstatic calmness evolves, Surrender to the surroundings, A sound I perceive, Humming in consonance with the self, A talk begins, Search and search, The truth behind existence, A life transcending sufferings, Quest of which begins in silence, In the process of initiation, A seeker; who am I? What purpose do I fulfill….

I feel

Image
Photo Credit: Sudip Bhattacharya Painting by Sejuti Biswas Your presence I feel When indigo rushes When darkness is a speck When train of waves gallop When they become the chariot When the Sun, on it, commands When warmth permeates into every sinew that respires When reflections are crystal clear each edifice is a pride When there is a uniformity   in non uniformity When moments are nurtured to be savoured to heal When distinction ends clouds become waves waves become clouds When miles are medley  of music Delving deep, the nectar rise Your presence is strengthened I feel,I feel...

We wonder!

Image
Photo credit: Sudip Bhattacharya   Petals wonder! Enclosed within sepals, Green sustains life, Inspires creative ingenuity, But isn't abundance of green become redundant at times! Why can't we be like the Sun? Glowing red in its inception, A scarlet touch of passion, Enhancing spirits to rise high to emerge as a winner. What about that yellow! Brightest and vibrant, An acrylic brush on the undefined, limitless canvas. Why not that layer of red defining boundary surrounding the melange of white and yellow! A newness for the eyes to devour. We die for the soft blush scattered in the midst of cottony clouds, Smiling shy; eager to receive our beloved, the butterfly to caress us with a kiss sucking the nectar, a crescendo too high to bear. Oh! the mighty Sun, We beg you to let the colors seep through the sepals, Let us be different, An identity for each in the sea of green. Songs we sing together with green, Dance begin with the rh...

INFINITY

Image
The limitless sky is an umbrella, Under which we breathe, To redefine our thoughts, Indefinite and boundless, A macrocosm belonging to all. The trees are awake, The boughs of bougainvillea, Laden with papery pink flowers, Sing with joy, In harmony with the rhythm, With which the wind blows, Without fear and care. Secured in the arms of unending blue, Bougainvillea relishes freedom, The clouds are its friends, Quenching its thirst, In happiness an earthy fragrance emits, Soothing souls; big and small. The little squirrel soaking warmth, In leisure under the blue umbrella, The blooms of the resplendent bougainvillea seem to hug him, In peace he slowly leaves, Scurrying for nuts to live, A dishevelled woman, Shattered with grief, Walking as if in trance, Stopped by chance, The boughs of bougainvillea, laden with mesmeric pink, Paint her chipped window, She looks up to find the infinite sky, Promising her a refuge, Imploring her to rise and fi...

DAYBREAK

Image
Painting by Sejuti Biswas Dark whispers were they, Claustrophobia simmers within, Redundant and desolate, A faraway look against a broken backdrop, Deliberating; Why the dark whispers? A distant voice calls. Look at the reddish orange hue, Spreading across the sky, Look at the sparkle of turquoise, Flowing unperturbed, Look at the seagull, Basking in the glory of its elevation, Look at the dewdrops on the leaves, Trickling down in harmony with the breeze, Look at the corals underneath, A shoal of butterfly fish goes by, Look at the light house standing, Undeterred, unfazed a gainst the waves, At times, crashing in fury during gale and hail. Dark whispers recede when the beam of light, Cascade through the broken backdrop, Mending with finesse, I walk along the beach with the waves caressing my feet, A few wisps of hair playing across my face, I sit still, the daybreak has dawned.

The Sun

Image
The wide yellow petals, Making many a whorl, Shining as if the Sun has graced the humble hearth, Glowing in delight, Scattering pearl drops everywhere, Each drop is a welcome song, For warmth to defeat coldness, Ushering hope to smother pain  with a will to win, Ego to be doused with the fire of determination, Emboldened by courage to fight  for the right, Surrounded by the nest of empathy, Bringing smile to the beaten faces, Sparkling are the eyes, Ready to rejoice bathing in yellowish hue, Resplendent, in abundance is joy, As the Sun is omnipresent in verandah, Never setting, beaming even in darkness, As if inspiring souls to let their dreams fly, High and high, Unleashing the innate strength  from deep within, To grow and prosper in a trajectory of one's own.

TEMPTATIONS

Image
Photo Credit: Sudip Bhattacharya                                                                 The Moon is silent for days, Awaiting behind the curtain of Fog, Even the roads feel lonely, Trees shiver; swaying impatiently, Bundle of nerves; agitated and irritated, Scattering of rays through the dewdrops is a dream, Morbid are the dwellings, Emptiness devouring all around. Until the Sun elopes with the Moon, from the dungeon; caught unawares the Fog runs, When crimson hue cradling yellowish tinge is liberating the horizon, Snow flakes in anticipation, Begin to cascade, Lifting spirits from doldrums, Filled with sacred thoughts. Morbidity is in the grave, Defeated and in shame, While the Earth is simmering with happiness, The glimmer of the Northern Lights, Display cand...

MARIGOLD

Image
Chili winter morning, Cascade of sun rays Illuminating every pathway, Dewdrops on the grass Evolving freshness all around. Globed Marigold on the balcony, Looking at the curtain drawn windows, Wondering about the butterfly, Glowing cheeks resting against pink lips, Mesmerizing  blue eyes, Drowned in their depth,   Marigold rejoices. Sudden swish of the curtain, Butterfly's blank stare, In a tear stained face, Filled with remorse, Beaten and crestfallen, Wings are broken. Gentle breeze,   Marigold undulates, An attempt to gather, Teardrops on her petals, Vaporized  in the glare of sunshine,   Marigold begins to mend, Each fragment dyed with her yellow, Like a skilled craftsman, Healing ego replete with trust and faith. .

CYCLE VAN

Image
I look down, Red soil beckons me, I look up, Sky is wide, Gleeful I, Feeling Why? The tracks are drawn, I am blown, Riding on a cycle van, Dangling legs, Brushing leaves, Salty feel, I relish. Boys run, In droves, Rolling tyres,  In the meadows, Parrots flock,  In the groves. Languishing lazy,  Are the cows. Soaking warmth,  In the winter Sun. Glowing embers, Cooking gruel, Wrinkled lines, With gummy smile, Waving happy, Ladle in hand! Sudden laughter, Intrigue me,  Arms entwined, In a wedded bliss. Gurgling sound, I hear, I am near, I am near, Windy sweep, Makes me leap. The calm sea, Spellbound me, Flawless horizon, Envelope me, Gleeful I, Wondering, Why me! Why me!

RISE AND RISE

Image
Through the window, I leave and fly, Towards the horizon, I rise and rise, Daybreak dawns, Gentle breeze nudges, The sea undulates, I wave and wave. Calmness enfolds, I hold his hand, Traversing the fields, the groves, Lotus in ponds, Dewdrops in wings, I believe, A distant call; the reality unfolds,
