MARIGOLD
Chili winter morning,
Cascade of sun rays
Illuminating every pathway,
Dewdrops on the grass
Evolving freshness all around.
Globed Marigold on the balcony,
Looking at the curtain drawn windows,
Wondering about the butterfly,
Glowing cheeks resting against pink lips,
Mesmerizing blue eyes,
Drowned in their depth,
Marigold rejoices.
Marigold rejoices.
Sudden swish of the curtain,
Butterfly's blank stare,
In a tear stained face,
Filled with remorse,
Beaten and crestfallen,
Wings are broken.
Gentle breeze,
Marigold undulates,
Marigold undulates,
An attempt to gather,
Teardrops on her petals,
Vaporized in the glare of sunshine,
Marigold begins to mend,
Marigold begins to mend,
Each fragment dyed with her yellow,
Like a skilled craftsman,
Healing ego replete with trust and faith.
