THE MOON

Only sound it was,
Waves travelling,
To and fro,
All around,
When nascent was the earth.
The forces of nature unite,
The globed Moon came into being,
To soothe the earth
With her calm demeanour,
Embracing with soft light,
Singing lullaby,
To let the earth breathe
In silence and peace.
Aeons have passed,
Still She is there,
Disseminating calmness,
Affectionately waiting,
Something is amiss!
Endless blinking of lights,
Amidst honking horns,
Belting out hard rock,
Her lullaby pause.
The windows are bare,
No one stares,
With joyous wonder,
She peeps,
Through a chink in the blind,
Dotted with screens,
Every inch it seems,
Not even a careless thought,
Time reveals,
Lonely She feels,
Tears trickle down,
Maybe, it's time to leave.
